About us

Peapods opened its doors back in April 2013 after a long journey to find a perfect location to create an individual setting.  We aim to provide good quality, accessible childcare and education in a warm, safe, happy environment, where every child is recognised, appreciated and encouraged to reach his/her full potential.  While our main focus at Peapods is on children, we also aim to support parents by ensuring we offer flexibility as well peace of mind.

Our Approach

At Peapods we have created a child centred environment which supports open ended play.  We provide ample play opportunities where children can engage deeply and ensure a child's imagination is not limited by what they play with.  Outdoor play is an essential part of Peapods, giving children the opportunity to use their environment as a source of learning.  We are fortunate to have a secure courtyard that is accessible at all times as well as our own field with a mud kitchen, mini-forest and giant sandpit.

Our free flow approach allows children to make their own choices during their time at Peapods.  During our day there will be times when we come together at circle time to share stories, songs and conversations, while the rest of the time children are given the freedom to explore Peapods inside and out at their own pace.  A wide range of rich learning activities are planned, which are available for all children to access and are shaped by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Children are provided with experiences and support which help them to develop a positive sense of themselves, respect for their environment, other people, social skills and a positive attitude to learning.

We aim to work in close partnership with parents and welcome them to join in with their children at Peapods.  We have an open door policy and welcome parents who want to be involved, joining in with nursery activities.  Your child's key person will share with you, your child's nursery day as well as information about his/her learning and development and we encourage you to share information with us.  Your child's learning journey will be available for you to read at any time and you are welcome to add to it.  Feedback is very important and we welcome it to ensure we are constantly improving and providing what children and their parents want and need.
